CVC Board Meeting Minutes

ISU Research Park, Ames, Iowa
January 30, 2007

The Meeting was called to order at 10:10 AM by Mayor Jim Erb. A quorum of more than 8 Board members was declared.

A motion was made and seconded to approve the Minutes. Motion Carried

An update was provided regarding discussions in Congress regarding Congressionally directed appropriations known as earmarks and the status of CVC funding. Consensus was that CVC should pursue additional opportunity for funding diversification.

Plans for the upcoming Philanthropy Academy on February 20th were reviewed and discussed.

The Board reviewed and discussed detailed budget recommendations from the Entrepreneurial Committee, Philanthropy Committee, and Rural-Urban Policy Studies Committee. Upon conclusion of the discussion, a motion was made and seconded to adopt the attached budget contingent on funding availability.

A motion was made and seconded to endorse the philanthropy concepts of Planned Gift Tax Credits and Entrepreneurial Endowment and Development Grants. Motion Carried. This work will be coordinated by Friends of Community Vitality.

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried and the meeting was adjourned 3:20 PM.
